Magen David Adom teams treated the two wounded men, one in his 40s and the other in his 30s, who were both shot in the extremities. They were then transferred to Rambam Hospital in the city.
MDA paramedic Itai Bar-David arrived on the scene and reported, “two injured men were conscious and suffering gunshot wounds to the extremities. Another of them, was suffering significant gunshot wounds, and we were forced to declare him dead on the scene.”
Hatzalah paramedic Doron Shafir, concurred, stating that “we receive a report about a shooting incident. When we arrived, unfortunately, we had to determine the death of one man critically injured.”
“We treated two other men injured by the gunfire. They are conscious and moderately wounded,” he added.
Police forces were also on hand at the site of the attack. An initial assessment of the shooting suggests that the motivational is criminal, and that the attack was a targeted hit.
Barriers were put up in the area in an effort to stop the motorcyclist suspected of driving up alongside and shooting at the vehicle carrying the three victims.
Earlier on Thursday, an elementary school principal, 43, was shot in southern Bedouin Kuseife on his way to school.
An MDA team evacuated the man in critical condition to the Soroka Hospital in Beersheva. Police have opened an investigation.
