The Islamic State terrorist group (ISIS) claims it shot down a Jordanian air force jet over its de-facto capital of Raqqa in northern Syria.
ISIS released pictures of what it said was the pilot of the downed plain, after his capture by its fighters.
Jordan is one of a number of Arab and western states taking part in a US-led air campaign against ISIS, conducting both reconnaissance and combat missions against jihadi targets.
The precise cause of the crash is not yet clear, but ISIS is claiming its forces shot it down using “anti-aircraft artillery.”
