Lebanese terrorist Samir Kuntar who murdered four Israelis, including four-year-old Einat Haran by repeatedly smashing her head with his rifle butt, is the newest hero among Palestinian Arabs.
Kuntar was sentenced to four life sentences but was released in a deal with Hezbollah in July 2008, in exchange for the bodies of Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, IDF soldiers who were kidnapped and murdered by Hezbollah in 2006.
After his release, Kuntar joined Hezbollah and was planning terror attacks against Israel when he was killed in Syria last week.
It appear now that child-killer Kuntar is the newest Palestinian Authority-Fatah superhero.
Palestinian Media Watch has brought to light statements by PA and Fatah officials glorifying Kuntar and his “heroic” acts of murder.
Adnan Al-Damiri, official spokesman of the PA Security Forces, posted the following on his Facebook page: “Palestine loves you as you loved it. None of us doubts your loyalty to Palestine, a martyr as big as the homeland…Peace be upon your soul, O Palestinian Arab.”
Moreover, an official PA TV Program Topic of the Day hosted PLO Executive Committee member and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front Wasel Abu Yusuf also heaped lavish praise on the terrorist.
The host introduced Abu Yusuf, saying, “in this episode we will discuss the Israeli air force’s bombing and assassination operation against the great fighter Samir Kuntar who spent nearly 30 years in Israeli prison while defending freedom, honor, and the Palestinian national struggle.”
Wasel Abu Yusuf said, “We extend condolences to ourselves, to the Palestinian people, to the Arab and Islamic nation, and all free men around the world, on the martyrdom-death of Samir Kuntar”
Folloing Kuntar’s death, Fatah’s posted on their Twitter account, “O erect tree of the forest and the heart glittering in the waters of the homeland martyr Samir Kuntar, goodbye”
Dozens of other Palestinians glorifying Kuntar’s heinous acts of terror are appearing across PA media and news sites, including Maher Hathat who named his newborn baby after the killer, as reported on a Al-Mayadeen TV report: “Allah gave Maher a child, and behold, Samir Kuntar was reborn on the day of his death.”
The newborn’s father Maher Hathat said, “The least we could do is to name him after Samir Kuntar because he rebelled for Palestine.”
“The body of Samir Kuntar has left the world, but his soul is eternal, spreading hope and resolve for the liberation of Palestine.”
