A large brushfire has spread Wednesday afternoon near Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem neighborhood.
Fire Department spokesman Yoram Levy told Arutz Sheva that the department has yet to contain the fire as of 4:30 pm Wednesday.
Twenty firefighters and six firefighting planes are at the scene.
Residents of Blumenfeld, Levin, and Hanetka streets have been asked to evacuate immediately due to heavy smoke in the area. All roads near the fire are closed to motor vehicles.
The light rail has also been closed between Dania and Ein Kerem stations.
