While the rest of the world was buying Iraq’s story that their nuclear weapon production was solely for peaceful purposes, Israel stayed in reality and launched Operation Opera. They flew without detection to take out the nuclear reactor before it was too late. Whether they could admit it in the moment or not, when the Persian Gulf War hit, the whole world had Israel to thank for taking care of business.
